I finally got out to my first game of the season—a day game between the San Jose Giants and the Inland Empire 66ers, Class A ball. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, perfect weather for baseball. The Giants ended up winning 8–6, and I brought my camera along to shake off the rust since I hadn’t shot anything since the World Series. I had a good conversation with a guy named Dave before the game, then later met another Dave, Mason, and Marty. Mason told me he followed Baseball Buddha, which surprised both of us. That kind of unexpected connection reminded me why I keep showing up. I got a few decent shots and know I need to get back in the groove, but more than anything, it just felt good to be at the ballpark again.

I meant to post these when Spring Training started. The memory still holds up.

After Freddie hit that home run in Game 1, my brother called me. He and his buddy Jeff had been drinking, feeling no pain, and came up with the idea: “Let’s go to Game 4 in New York.”

My brother’s a lifelong Brewers fan. I’m a Dodgers fan. But that night, it wasn’t about rooting interests. He just wanted to see a World Series game — he cried after the Brewers lost Game 7 back in 1982 and figured it might be a while before they get another shot.

We flew out from Chicago — the three of us — and took in Yankees vs. Dodgers at Yankee Stadium. For me, it brought back a lot of memories from my childhood in the ’70s, when those two teams seemed like they were always on a collision course in October.

Game 4 didn’t go how I’d hoped — no sweep for the Dodgers — but it didn’t matter. Being there with my brother and Jeff, watching a World Series game under the lights in the Bronx, was enough.

What an incredible atmosphere last night at the Brewers-Mets Wild Card game! The tension was thick as Brewers fans packed the stadium, yearning for that breakthrough moment to finally shake off the playoff monkey. You could feel the crowd’s anticipation building all night, waiting for the team to come alive.

Jackson Chourio and Garrett Mitchell brought that energy to life, and when they delivered, the stadium absolutely erupted. Every at-bat, every pitch felt like the difference-maker, and when those two stepped up, the explosion of cheers was deafening. The whole crowd, united in that moment, was ready to believe again.

Tonight’s Game 3 feels like it’s got all the makings of a classic, especially with last night’s momentum. Fans are ready, the Brewers are fired up, and the chance to move on is just within reach. Time to see if they can seal the deal!

I got invited to a Brewers game today by my buddy James, who had some amazing seats right next to the Giants' dugout. I brought my Sony camera along and managed to snap some decent photos. While I had to do quite a bit of editing in Lightroom, I’m really starting to get the hang of the camera, and each experience helps me learn more. The game itself was a lot of fun, especially since the Brewers dominated and cruised to a 6-0 victory. Overall, it was an enjoyable day both for the photography and the game

I recently went to a Las Vegas Aviators game, and despite the excitement of the night, I ran into some frustrating issues with my camera settings. I didn't realize until halfway through that I had my ISO cranked up to 20,000, which left a lot of my photos grainy. It was a bit of a disappointment, but I managed to salvage some shots in Lightroom.

On the bright side, I’m getting more familiar with my Sony A7 IV. The more I shoot, the more confident I become, and I’m really enjoying the process, even when things don’t go perfectly. I’ve got to give a huge shout-out to my beautiful girlfriend for being so patient with me, especially considering we were out there in 109-degree heat. It was a tough night for pictures, but I’m learning and growing with every click.

This past Monday night at Dodger Stadium was memorable, especially since it was Hello Kitty night. My beautiful girlfriend, SiriKit, and her daughter, Kit, were game to see the Dodgers, Gavin Lux, a Wisconsin kid had a game winning home run, adding to the always electric atmosphere at Dodger Stadium. I had a great time, even though I struggled a bit with my camera. I had just picked up a 50mm Sony lens before the game because MLB doesn’t allow zoom lenses, so I didn’t have much time to get comfortable with it. Despite the learning curve, I managed to snap some great shots of the fans, and even caught a few of Tweezy the Vendor. With the company of SiriKit and Kit, and the vibrant crowd, it was a fantastic night filled with fun and some solid photos to show for it!

I was out photographing fans with my Sony A7 IV in Kenosha, watching the Kingfish and Madison Mallards of the NWL. The game was delayed because of rain and remained rainy and overcast for most of it. I had trouble figuring out how to shoot in those conditions, so I am not too happy with what I got. I'm posting the 10 I liked, but most are not keepers. I'm learning more about the camera and what I can do with it in Lightroom. The more I shoot, the more I learn.

Each photo provided valuable insights into managing quick movements, lighting, and aperture settings. These experiences are helping me refine my techniques for future games, embracing each session as an opportunity to improve my photography skills.

I was at Wrigley Field on Father's Day, taking in the atmosphere before the Cardinals-Cubs game with my Sony A7 IV. I decided to experiment with the shutter priority mode on the camera after reading about it, hoping to better understand how it works. Although I didn't attend the game itself, walking around the ballpark provided plenty of opportunities to capture the spirit of the day.

I let the camera handle the focusing, which allowed me to think more about the composition of each shot. This approach helped me focus on framing and perspective. While none of the photos are quite portfolio-worthy yet, I did manage to capture some moments that I'm pleased with.

I edited the photos in Lightroom, learning more about the program's features and capabilities. After sifting through the shots, I posted the nine that I liked the most. Though I'm still getting the hang of both the camera and the editing software, this experience was a valuable step in improving my photography skills.
