looking forward to that piece you mentioned! I don't hate the playoffs myself, but I don't respect them and don't think they contain any real information. I think the teams know this by now, and I would dearly love any manager who was willing to just shrug and go "eh, we'll give it a shot. it's either our year or it ain't."

But a season can be lost if your team gets off to a miserable start; those games lost that should have been won can’t be won again the rest of the year.

It's me. I'm that fan. lol. That was a *rough* opening series. Hard to keep any kind of perspective--even when you know better--when the excitement of Opening Day is met with such a thrashing. Though, I suppose sports fandom has never really been rational...

I go to games all over the country every year and all fans are the same about their team, was texting with a Padres fan yesterday, same frustration different team :)
