Born and bred in Brooklyn, I was a diehard Dodgers fan. The only times since the move that I prefer the Dodgers to win (root is way too strong a word) are when they play the Yankees.
I am there for 30+ games a year and this captures the joy and ambiguity of it all. I wrote a poem about a more mundane part of that ambiguity- Dodger Stadium traffic. (It also touches on the ghosts of the barrio our City fathers stole from the poor. https://keithrohman.substack.com/p/dodger-stadium-traffic-a-poem?r=9za6j)
