Sometimes you didn’t catch it cleanly —
maybe it bounced off the seats, rolled under chairs,
ended up in your lap more by chance than skill.

It didn’t matter.
You had the ball.
A small piece of the day you could carry home.

Buddhism
The greatest gifts often arrive through no effort of your own.
The point is not to grip them tightly —
but to receive them with gratitude.

Joy comes more from how you hold the gift
than how you got it.
