A Buddhist tenet I hold dear is impermanence, that element that makes the fleeting moment radiant. When I witness a ball field in its dormancy, I am reminded that each pitch, swing, catch, slide, is as ephemeral and precious as all attended moments of existence. At low level ball, I remember that at the end of each season, we’d each look around the locker room knowing it was the final time this particular team would play together. All attended moments are treasures.
