Baseball Buddha Radio Network is my way of reconnecting with baseball the way it was meant to be heard, one pitch at a time, through the radio. I started this series so I could listen to full, unedited broadcasts while driving, without knowing the final score. No highlight packages, no fast-forwards, just the game as it happened. Each Saturday, I’ll release a new pre-1973 broadcast, lightly cleaned for clarity but still true to its original character.
This first game is at Forbes Field in Pittsburgh, on May 30th, 1957, for a doubleheader between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Calling the action are the legendary voices of Vin Scully, Jerry Doggett, and Al Helfer, capturing every moment with the rhythm, and detail that made radio baseball timeless.
