I completely feel this. I haven't paid less attention to baseball this year since I was in my early 20's. There are just more fascinating things in my eyes.
What’s been fascinating to me is the emptiness I feel when I leave some space in my life and don’t immediately fill it. My whole life, I’ve found something to follow, something to do, something to look forward to. I’ve rarely stopped to ask why I’m so uncomfortable having nothing to occupy me. With baseball taking up less of my attention, I’m starting to wonder what I’ve been so quick to fill that space to avoid feeling.
I've missed your posts. And loved the seemingly random radio games you've shared. I will turn 70 this offseason and hope for many more pennant races. It's an imperfect game led by imperfect rich people. And I certainly don't pay as much attention to the game as I used to, but it's still my favorite sport and the Angels (curse me) still my favorite team.
My only ask is that you keep writing, and if you feel up to it, keep sharing that writing. You have something to say that I, and other others, want to hear. Maybe it will be about baseball. Maybe it will be about something else. But you have something to share.
When every pitcher in every league in all organized baseball has to pick up a damn bat and take their turn at the plate, and act like proper ballplayers in other words, then I might be interested in baseball again: a game played with a ball, a glove and A BAT, by nine players per team. I want nothing to do with this cheesy fraud calling itself baseball with this ridiculous 'designated hitter' thing. That isn't baseball.
I have some thoughts to share. At 76, I still enjoy the game. And have perspective as the radio engineer for Scully, Buck & Costas among others. Going to sleep now but will reply more tomorrow ⚾️

Tbh, Moreno selling the angels has given me hope, however naive that might turn out to be.

I've found that, with regard to my interests and hobbies, all things have their season, some long, some short. Don't be afraid to move on and evolve!
