Knocked it out of the park here. If Manfred is opening his mouth he's lying. MLB has quickly become the most crooked and cynical league under his stewardship.
Thanks Gary, just so tired of this bullshit, the MLB has become the same extraction machine that is our capitalist society, but I do find joy bitching about it :)
I watch games through illegal means and never buy new product, so they don't get my money. It obviously doesn't matter, and they won't miss my money, but it matters to me and that's all that counts.
As always, Buddha sharing the truth! Weaponizing public opinion turns this into an even uglier battle. I don’t see a quick resolution to this at all during the offseason. Everyone expects a lockout but with neither side willing to budge we may miss an entire season. Perhaps the prospect of lost revenue may trigger owners to do the “right thing”.
Pro Business-Anti-Union, Democratic Socialist-Trickle Down Economics, Right To Work-Living Wages, Deregulation-Red Tape. ….blah blah blah….Wolves Of Wall Street indeed. Most of these billionaire owners don’t give a crap about anything. Completely void of any ethics. As right wing, MAGA adjacent some of these athletes might be, boy they like their union when it works for them. Good luck MLB. Who will be the Expos of the lost season?
In the early 2000’s the owners broke the NHL union. It’s a story worth revisiting. Connor McDavid took a salary cut last season under the cap and makes less than an NBA Mascot. I’m sure the MLB Players Unions knows the tale. Solidarity my brothers and sisters…..or is that too communist for you ;)

When it comes to pro sports, fans too often agree with the billionaire owners that the millionaire players make too much money.

Let’s hope the owners turn down their greed…
That’s a lot of hope against a lot of greed. Still…
