City life is contradictions. Perfect.

Those people sound unsophisticated, and more than likely don't know that they are.

Unsophisticated but also can’t wrestle with differing opinions, lost some more subscribers again today, which I find odd since a few that unsubscribed have commented positively to my baseball perspective…

The cowardice expands to all corners of life. Fuck 'em. As a writer you're going to offend people. It is what it is.

Fear. And racism.

Of course, the two are inter-twined in fear of the other.

And the "other" are those who look different or believe differently.

I truly don't get the idea that big cities are hell holes. I understand it's roots and why it continues to be perpetuated, but it's so foreign to my own lived experience. Portland is the city that raised me. It gave me everything. It's not some west coast version of Allepo, no matter how many times RW media tries to claim otherwise. Closer to home, I never feel scared walking around the Deer District or coming out of the Vivarium late at night (or most anywhere else in MKE). Honestly, most of the time it reminds me that I want to live in a place where I won't need a car.

What will eradicate fear? The exchange of ideas exposure to new information? Keep shining the light my friend. Love wins
