Pause. Reflect and listen. I agree the universe is very loud right now. The weight of world events weighs heavy on everyone and the overwhelm is real. Spring is in the air still winter holds our energy in standby throughout much of the country. We are playing on that middle ground. It's important to raise our voices for the causes we are passionate about where they do the most good. Yes, and sometimes that means sharing the real feelings as you have done here. Nice reflection. We can only go the way the wind blows.

Well said - our whole world is noise filled. From restaurants with TVs to sports arenas with signs that implore fans to “ Get Louder!” . Baseball, especially, is about the quiet drama and anticipation. Pitch clocks also take away from this anticipation. A pitcher that rubs down the ball and catches his breath. A batter that erases the back line of the batters box. These take time. And it’s good and valuable time. Pitch clocks take this away. It tells us that the game is going to be over in a certain timeframe and then we can all stare into our phones again. Everything changes. It’s not always good change however.

Relax BB. You have a clear, insightful voice. No need to hide your light under a bushel. Keep up the good work.

This really hits home and is my favorite thing you've written to date.

Oh, mos def, I couldn't agree more. (Hell, I've written about the noise level myself: https://logosconcarne.substack.com/p/the-noise-is-deafening) As you may have seen, I'm no longer publishing on Substack, in part because this place is just too noisy for me. I'll go on reading the blogs that interest me (like yours) but will mostly silently lurk. I'm trying to unlearn the social media induced need to comment.

It's awful when a hobby, something one does for love, becomes an obligation. Blogging and vlogging can lead to that, so sometimes it's good to take a break. Sometimes I get sick to death of my own opinion (let alone anyone else's). It's good, even necessary, to step back, take a breath, do something else, something new, and refresh.

As much as humanly possible, do it all for love and nothing else. Be good to yourself.
