Most don’t even watch the game anymore - too busy staring into their cell phones, taking selfies or hanging out in the concourse looking to buy overpriced food and drinks. The game is often just background scenery for a night of being seen

A microcosm of what corporations have done to much of our country.

I go to more college games now than MLB. Good seats, good talent without all the stuff I’m come to hate about the majors.

Thanks for this guys.

Coming out of left field for this, from a British premier league soccer ex-fan. American, Russian, Qatari, Saudi money has made the premier league just the same. I stopped supporting Manchester United in 2005 when the Glazer family took over. With a bunch of other fans we formed a new club FC United of Manchester, celebrated our 20th year in 2025. Long live fan owned community sport!

Stateside, the lower division games are often just as exciting, and the “fan experience” is light years better than what you might see in MLS.

Do you think the World Cup next year might change things?

Everything you said is true, but at least here in Atlanta you can bring in your own food. My go to is a Publix sub, some chips and a water.

I do pay $30 to park a half mile away, and my seats are $70 each per game for a 27 game package. So I'm in for $170 for my wife and I to see a game and yes, that's just stupid.

I can afford it now, but I'm old and have saved 30 years of salary to get to this point. These prices are killing the young guys.
